She has a passion for discovering the intricate connections of the organs and other fascial structures that are typically overlooked in conventional musculoskeletal treatments.
She is an avid snowboarder and dog lover, and lives in Brooklyn with her husband and their two fur babies.

I have worked in hospital settings as a Registered Nurse for over 20 years. I gained my Personal Trainer certificate in 1995 and taught Jazzercise as the owner for over 15 years. I am a 2014 graduate of INN obtaining my Health Coaching certificate. I work closely with my clients to help them obtain their highest level of optimal health.
Circulating blood through healthy movement is the very best medicine that can ever be provided, the best antidepressant, antibiotic, antiviral, energy pill and even pain reliever. From my own experience, it can be very discouraging to get up and move when you are in pain.
After experiencing firsthand, as a patient suffering from concussion syndrome and chronic back pain, relief with Fascial Counterstrain Therapy (FCS), I immediately began ongoing training through The Jones Institute for Fascial Counterstrain. Today, I have completed every Jones Institute class offered and use FCS therapy to help many men & women suffering from chronic pain of all sorts. I also instruct clean living, as well as disease management through nutrition and exercise. I believe that the best health insurance you can invest in, is your own health and wellness!
Saxony’s first experience with the Counterstrain technique was as a physical therapy doctoral student at Grand Valley State University. She was assigned to an outpatient clinic in Indiana where CS was the sole manual therapy used. This was not her first internship so she was able to make comparisons between CS and traditional methods she had experienced at previous clinics. What struck her the most was the fact that patients were getting 100% better. Many patients with chronic conditions were experiencing relief quite quickly and with less effort. No unnecessary pain was produced during their treatments. These results were something she had never seen, nor would again with any other manual therapy technique.
After she earned her doctorate, she took a position in Chicago at ARC Physical Therapy honing her technique in CS.
She has recently moved back to her home state of Michigan where she started her own practice, Think Physical Therapy PLLC. This gentle, holistic technique that gets to the root causes of painful conditions rather than treating symptoms is too beneficial not to promote (and too fun not to practice).
Saxony also works at the Grand Rapids Home for the Veterans where she serves clients with a multitude of chronic conditions and diagnoses. In addition to her Doctorate of Physical Therapy, she also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Communications/Public Relations and has experience as a Pilates and dance instructor.
Cathy has been in the field of sports medicine for over 30 years, working in multiple professional and collegiate level sports, as well as at Nike World Headquarters for 15+ years.
Fascial Counterstrain was the missing link for her patients. Once she learned this technique she uses it when treating a broad range of injuries, from acute on-field injuries to post-operative and post-concussion rehabilitation. It has changed her life and her patients’ lives!
She treats patients in Bend, OR.

I am in private practice utilizing mostly Fascial Counterstain to treat a variety of conditions. I have specialized over my 20 year career in chronic and difficult patient presentations. I have taken course work in Craniosacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, direct joint manipulation, exercise, neuromuscular facilitation and ergonomics. I have found Counterstain to be the most effective treatment by far for treating the root cause of dysfunction.

Christine Wood, PT, DPT, LMT, earned a physical therapy degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1992, a doctorate in physical therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2009 and a massage therapy license in 2018.
Since the very beginning of her career she has been driven to help people heal and live their lives free of pain. Christine took her first Fascial Counterstrain course in 2011. The power and versatility of the technique combined with the anatomy-based science was an immediate draw for her. Once she experienced the way it honors the body both by its gentleness and by its systematic approach to finding what the body needs, she was hooked.
Realizing the inherent weaknesses of the current medical model, Christine obtained a massage therapy license so she could provide Fascial Counterstrain to people without the need for a doctor’s referral.
Christine has been a teaching assistant for the Jones Institute since 2014 and for Counterstrain Academy since 2020. She is also enrolled in the Academy’s Instructor Training Program and will soon be bringing this knowledge to other practitioners across the country.
Christine is the owner of Horizons Therapy in Waynesboro, VA.

Laura was introduced to Counterstrain at a young age from repeated sports injuries. By the age of seventeen, she was working in a physical therapy clinic and was fortunate enough to work with amazing manual therapists that have shaped the therapist she has become today. Laura moved to The Columbia River Gorge in 1994 and started her career as a physical therapist assistant. She focused her career and continuing education on manual therapy, specifically osteopathic techniques. Laura has always been drawn to their holistic approach to the body.
Her Counterstrain journey with The Jones Institute started in 1996 which has been a wonderful and fulfilling experience which she continues today with a focus on Fascial Counterstrain. In 2012, Laura earned her Board Certification in Strain & Counterstrain from The Jones Institute (JSCC). She decided it was time to transition from physical therapy to an independent Counterstrain practice under a massage therapy license received in 2013. Her passion for Counterstrain and hunger for learning led her to the Counterstrain Academy in 2014. Laura has completed all modules offered by the Counterstrain Academy and joined the Instructor Training Program in 2019.
Fascial Counterstrain is a technique Laura has personally benefited from, truly believes in, and loves to work with. She feels blessed to be able to share it with you.
