As practicing physical therapist since 1985, I was first exposed to Counterstrain when I attended a seminar which was given by Lawrence Jones D.O.. (the originator of the counterstrain technique.) I quickly realized that counterstrain was a powerful tool that enabled me to address some of the more recalcitrant problems that my more complex patients presented with which I had previously been unable to help. After that initial course I went on to be certified in the counterstrain in 2003 through the Jones Institute. The next big revelation with my counterstrain experience was when attended my first seminar with Brian Turkey in 2008 where I was introduced to the fascial counterstrain concept in which Brian was applying to the counterstrain concept to fascial system. This has opened my practice to treating patient with conditions that I never imagined would be treatable within the world of physical therapy. I have since attended all the new fascial seminars as Brian has released them and starting this year, I have started training through the counterstrain academy to help perfect my mastery of fascial counterstrain.
I have been practicing classical Jones counterstrain since 1992. I started fascial counterstrain training seven years ago and have fallen in love with the technique. I hope to continue to learn and grow with this wonderful technique.

Are you suffering from pain or dysfunction that limits you from doing what most love to do? The Fascial Counterstrain systems approach provides the resources needed to encourage even the most challenging of clients. Clinically observable effects of Fascial Counterstrain commonly include: decreased pain, decreased tenderness, decreased swelling, normalization of muscle tone, increased circulation; improved posture, improved proprioception, improved efficiency of muscle recruitment patterns, increased range of motion, improved strength, and improved functional performance.
Fascial Counterstrain is a highly skilled method that relies on a scan of all of the body’s systems in order to locate and treat the origin(s) of pain. It is based soundly in anatomy, and can be explained by the most recent scientific research on fascia. Because this technique identifies and treats the source of the problem(s), success rates tend to be very high, with often immediate and clinically observable results being produced from the very first session onward. I look forward to serving you in southeastern Wisconsin.

Ben has been utilizing Counterstrain since 2013, and it was in that first year that he became a full convert to this powerful treatment approach. After being a victim of a car accident, leaving him with both a concussion and musculoskeletal pain, Counterstrain proved itself to be singularly effective in recovery. His direct experience with a relief and healing that was not achieved with chiropractic, massage, or acupuncture sent him on a path to master this unique therapy. Benjamin’s has honed his intuitive and holistic approaches through years of applying Eastern modalities of bodywork. However, it is with the gentle precision of Fascial Counterstrain that he creates powerful healing treatments for individuals looking to overcome pain, optimize their performance, and deepen their connection with their health and body.

Lory Yeh, DPT, OCS, LAc
Lory’s introduction to Counterstrain was before starting graduate school. She observed the quick and positive impact of Counterstrain on patient’s symptoms while assisting at a rehabilitation facility. This was the motivation to earning her DPT at University of Southern California in 2009. She immediately went on to receive a Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2012. She has completed all the most current Fascial Counterstrain courses through the Jones Institute and utilizes this technique as the foundation of her manual therapy practice at InBalance AcuPT. Lory has a passion for understanding the human body and is constantly reaching towards perfecting her skills as a practitioner. Naturally, Lory continues on the path to mastering Counterstrain through Counterstrain Academy.
