Ross Mcnie, Massage Therapy

Ross worked as an Engineer in the Oil and Gas industry but always had a fascination with the human body.
After years of developing skills as a trainer and performance coach, his “Engineering Brain” was fascinated with aspects of injury and recovery. Finding various holistic techniques and continuing to look for was to improve client outcomes, Ross retrained in massage therapy to allow him to assist clients with hands on manual therapies.
With no exposure to FCS in Scotland , but a fellow practitioner describing the results achieved from FCS, Ross took the opportunity to travel to Frederick to learn FCS Foundations and Cartilage Class. Having a life changing result during the Cartilage class, he immediately committed to returning the following year for 2 further classes and is excited to further develop his FCS skills to help his clients achieve the best possible outcomes, from professional athletes to chronic pain patients and everthing in between.

Roger Larsen, LMT

I have always been fascinated by the human body-enhanced wellbeing, optimal physical performance, mind/body connections, holistic and natural healing alternatives. On my journey of learning about the body I have picked up certifications as a Crossfit coach, Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach, Integrative Manual Therapist, Licensed Massage Therapist, certified Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Instructor, and a Counterstrain practicitioner.

As an active and older practitioner of Brazillian Jiujitsu and Crossfit I have had many strains and pains both chronic and acute. After being treated by a Counterstrain practioner I realized first hand the restorative power of Counterstrain. I quickly signed up for as many classes I could take to learn more.

After a 30 year career in healthcare administration I decided to focus on helping others find relief and enhance performance through Counterstrain. As I have learned and practiced Counterstrain, I have also come to appreciate the sophistication of our bodies and the beauty and the ease of Counterstrain techniques to release trapped inflammation and restore range of motion, improve strength, prevent injuries and eliminate pain.

Maia Hansen, LMT

Maia was introduced to Fascial Counterstrain as a patient in 2022. She was blown away by the modality and its ability to integrate all of the body systems and hone in on the root cause of pain or dysfunction. With a new found love for the gentle nature of the techniques and a passion for helping those in pain, Maia earned her massage therapy certification and has been taking FCS classes since 2024. Maia has a BA in Biology and an MA in Teaching and has been a science teacher since 2016. She finds that her background in Biology allows her to grasp the anatomical and physiological components of FCS, while her natural intuition helps to guide her hands. She continues to teach Biology to high schoolers, but is now offering Counterstrain part-time out of her home in the rural Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.
