Maria Flynn, MPT

I’ve been a physical therapist since 2002 after graduating with my Master of Physical Therapy from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. Since then, I have specialized in neurological and orthopedic conditions where I worked with adults as well as pediatrics in the acute rehabilitation, inpatient and outpatient settings. My undergraduate degree is in Spanish Literature and Language, and included a year studying abroad in Madrid, Spain, and a physical therapy service trip to El Salvador. My Spanish language skills add to my ability to also treat Spanish speaking clients.

I learned about Fascial Counterstrain through a fellow soccer mom on my son’s team. As I researched more about the technique, I could tell this was the “missing link” I had been seeking to get down to the true cause of my clients’ dysfunctions. I have gone through a severe autoimmune disease, and multiple abdominal and hip surgeries which have resulted in chronic pain and mobility issues. Fascial Counterstrain has been the most effective treatment I have found! It changes the way physical therapists assess, treat and help their patients in their health journey. It addresses long-term issues that many others and I face that are not addressed by traditional physical therapy. I’m honored and committed to truly help my clients by getting to the root cause of their pain and dysfunction with Fascial Counterstrain treatment.

Outside of work, I am a mother of 4 children, along with a fur baby. I find joy in being active, adventurous travels with my family, and relaxing while reading, cooking and painting watercolors.

Ryan Friend, DPT

Dr. Ryan Friend helps adults suffering from nagging aches and pains get back to an active, healthy lifestyle without the need for pain medication, injections, or multiple visits to the doctor.

Dr. Ryan specializes in manual physical therapy, corrective movement, stress reduction techniques and helping patients who suffer from chronic issues other medical professionals haven’t been able to identify or treat.

Anthony Tomaselli, PT

After completion of his PT training at the University of Vermont in 1998, Anthony initially worked in a small, community hospital. He eventually found his niche in Outpatient private practice and earned a certification in Manual therapy.
To fulfill a career-long dream, Anthony and his entire family moved to Steamboat Springs, CO where he participated in a 16 month AAOMPT accredited fellow-in-training position. The intensive in-clinic mentoring accentuated his expertise to integrate various PT and Osteopathic approaches in the treatment of Orthopedic issues and all other systems for the wholistic care of individuals, including problem-solving strategies for those with chronic pain.
Upon fellowship completion in November 2020 and returning home to the beautiful Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, Anthony and his wife Krista re-opened the HŌHP clinic full-time. He was then invited by a colleague to explore Fascial Counterstrain (FCS) and attended his first of Brian Tuckey, PT’s courses. Anthony then immersed himself in this paradigm as he found it extremely specific and gentle yet profoundly effective in treating all systems of the body. FCS is a truly holistic approach that also integrates superbly with other anatomy-based, holistically-minded disciplines, which resonates with his own commitment to lifelong study of these fascinating anatomical inter-relationships coupled with his passion for helping each person in need.
At HŌHP Anthony personally provides care for individuals of all ages. In addition to problem-solving through a vast array of clinical conditions, he has provided care for fitness enthusiasts of all ages, amateur and professional athletes and coaches including members of the US Ski Team, Dancers, Gymnasts, Runners, Equestrians, Rodeo competitors, Golfers, and those involved in all other sport varieties.

James Chritton, LMT

I’m James Chritton, a Bay Area native and experienced bodyworker practicing since 2011. My work blends advanced manual therapies—including Rolfing® Structural Integration, Feldenkrais, and osteopathic-informed techniques from the Barral Institute—with a deep commitment to helping clients move better, feel better, and heal at the root level.

Discovering Fascial Counterstrain was a transformative moment in my practice. Its precision and effectiveness immediately stood out, allowing me to identify and release hidden sources of pain and dysfunction with accuracy and care. The use of cranial scanning and tender points has made my work more refined, responsive, and deeply impactful.

My path into healing wasn’t just professional—it was personal. I found this work out of necessity, searching for answers in my own body and discovering tools I now share with others. That journey has taken me as far as Guatemala, where I studied traditional healing practices that continue to inform my grounded, integrative approach.

Clients describe my work as gentle, effective, and highly attuned.
