I’ve been a physical therapist for over 20 years and I love listening to clients, getting to the root of the problem and helping restoration!

kacy borba spann, ND, LAc

dr. kacy l. borba spann (androgynous) of Quercus Natural Health, is a Naturopathic Doctor and Licensed Acupuncturist practicing adjunctive healthcare in Portland, Oregon at the Opening to Life Building in the SE Hawthorne neighborhood. Adjunctive care means that dr. kacy does not practice primary care.

dr. kacy hails from a big family in a small “cow-town” on the central coast of California where her Salinan ancestors have lived for over 6,000 years and live oaks abound. She studied Community Healthcare at UC Santa Cruz — a major she designed — focusing on social inequities in healthcare and biomedical sciences. A few years later dr. kacy journeyed to Portland, OR for graduate school at the National College of Natural Medicine. There she spent time growing, changing, learning, healing and connecting with Naturopathic and Chinese medicine.

She thinks that being bipedal is the coolest and likes to be in motion, whether walking, skateboarding, dancing, or hula hooping. dr. kacy loves to be in nature with her bare feet on the earth near bodies of moving water. When she is with the ocean tides on a full moon she feels most connected to our creator. She believes there’s no better dessert than a chocolate chip cookie and that we all deserve to treat ourselves. She strives to find what is to love in each soul she meets, and she looks forward to meeting you!

dr. kacy is a generalist at heart and loves seeing all ages and stages though tends to most often treat pain and psychospiritual issues. She is a very hands-on practitioner with a strong belief in the value of therapeutic touch which can include: acupuncture, non-insertive acupuncture, bodywork (myofascial release, channel work, cranio-sacral, abdominal massage, fascial counterstrain), spinal manipulation, and nasal specifics.

dr. kacy enjoys working with people who want agency over their healthcare and want to be informed, active participants in their healthcare decisions. It’s essential to dr. kacy that patients feel supported by this partnership. Whether the healing work spans a day or many years, dr. kacy strives to listen to, support and tend to each person entrusted within her care.

Many of her patients have admitted that she is the first doctor they actually look forward to seeing!

Kyerin Cubos, LMT

Helping people alleviate chronic pain, improve performance, and achieve lasting weight loss through advanced manual therapy, personalized movement strategies and emotional wellness coaching.

I use Fascial Counterstrain as a base diagnostic to understand where someone is at and to prepare their body for whatever they want to do performance wise. Whether that is athletics, weekend warrior activities or being able to play with the grandkids or go up and down stairs without pain or being out of breath.

Since beginning his journey with Counterstrain, it has become his mission to consistently deliver results of the highest level to his patients. To achieve this, he relentlessly improves his skills by staying up-to-date with anatomical research, attending seminars, and participating in mastery classes run by the Counterstrain Academy.

In 2024, Maciek was offered the chance to join the Counterstrain Instructor Training Program, further enhancing his growth as a practitioner and allowing him to contribute to the promotion and development of this life-changing approach.

Ray Pratt, LMT

My name is Ray Pratt, and I have been a licensed massage therapist since 2015. My passion began in my early teen years when I was dealing with an injury and experienced the power of soft tissue work for the first time. I have worked in various massage therapy settings, with a primary focus in clinical settings. It was incredibly fulfilling to help people achieve their goals until I encountered failure. The inability to help someone drove me to seek answers tirelessly. Then, in 2020, I discovered a technique called fascial counterstrain, which I was initially skeptical about. However, after attending my first course, listening to Brian speak, and witnessing the profound effects of this technique firsthand convinced me of its potential. This technique revolutionized my perspective on dysfunction, tightness, and pain production. Over the past four years, it has been a journey learning more of the intricate web that the human body is. Its relationships, its interactions and new concepts that have transformed my treatment approach. Many individuals who used to return with the same persistent issues are now achieving their goals. I am passionate about this powerful approach and continually expanding my knowledge to help empower as many individuals as possible.
