Kenneth Glowacki, DACM, L.Ac.

Training in Fascial Counterstrain has continued to lead Ken Glowacki to diving deeper into how to bring back greater body function, relieve pain patterns and uncover underlying structural impediments to health. As a lifelong investigator and student of the human body, Fascial Counterstrain further enhances his ability to locate and treat the root cause of body dysfunction.

Ken Glowacki practices in Portland, Oregon. He is also a faculty member at the National University of Natural Medicine. He teaches classical Chinese medical and its clinical application to students over the years. Other significant trainings have been with Daoist priest Jeffrey Yuen, accomplished Japanese acupuncturists, Yi Jing practitioners and Chinese medicine herbalists.

Bethany Graesslin, DPT

I’ve been a practicing physical therapist for the past 7 years. I received my undergraduate degree in Rehabilitation Psychology from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2013 and my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Concordia University-Mequon in 2017. I’ve spent the last several years practicing in an outpatient orthopedic setting. I took my first course in fascial counterstrain in 2019 and was amazed by its effectiveness.

My fascial training includes: Foundations (F1), Lymphatic-Venous System 1: Peripheral (LV1), Lymphatic-Venous System 2: Spinal (LV2), Spinal Ligaments & Myofascia (MSK-SL), Periosteum (MSK-P) Cartilage & Superficial Fascia (MSK-C), Visceral System (VC)

Tammi Kroeger, LMT

I was introduced to Fascial Counterstrain in 2018. I was “officially” diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in my late 20’s, but suspect I’ve had it since a teenager. I tried Counterstrain for a pulled back, but realized after one session that it helped symptoms I’d been trying to manage drug-free for years. My husband suffered with sciatica for years and Fascial Counterstrain was the only thing that addressed the underlying issues and provided long lasting relief. When I had the opportunity to change careers, I knew this was what I wanted to do. My focus now is to introduce Fascial Counterstrain to everyone with chronic pain or other issues that haven’t responded to traditional treatment. I know first hand that it can help when hope seems lost.

Kristin Barnes, ND, LAc

Kristin Barnes is a Naturopathic Doctor (ND) and Eastern Asian Medicine Practitioner (EAMP) with advanced training in Fascial Counterstrain through the Jones Institute. Counterstrain is the foundation of her clinical work, informing how she evaluates pain, movement patterns, and the nervous system, and how she supports the body’s innate capacity to self-correct.

Her approach integrates counterstrain with complementary modalities including acupuncture, naturopathic and functional medicine, sports medicine, Neurosomatic Intelligence (NSI), plant medicine, and nutrition. Rather than layering techniques, Kristin uses these tools to deepen and refine the counterstrain process, tailoring care to each patient’s unique physiology and lived experience.

Before entering clinical medicine, Kristin spent 23 years as a Naval Aviator, retiring from active duty in 2015. During her military career, she competed at the highest levels of endurance sport as a member of the All-Navy Triathlon Team, including participation in the Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaiʻi. This background gives her a deep, embodied understanding of physical stress, injury, recovery, and performance under demanding conditions.

Kristin earned her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine from Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington in 2021. Her work is shaped by the intersection of high-level athletics, trauma-informed care, and precise hands-on assessment—always with counterstrain at the core.
