“Most people just don’t know how good they can feel!”
As an advanced manual physical therapist with more than 30 years experience, my interest in Fascial counterstrain evolved from my first encounter with Counterstrain in 2004. FCS today provides a holistic approach for each patient who comes for help to my SF clinic, HealthWell Physical Therapy Group. After completing my Masters Degree in Physical Therapy at Columbia University in New York, I’ve pursued studies in osteopathic techniques, as well as visceral and neurological manual therapy with French osteopath Dr. Jean Pierre Barral. I have also completed 4 years of Feldenkrais training providing a unique somatic handle to guide movement re-education. Working both in San Francisco and Healdsburg California, I am currently pursuing certification in Brian Tuckey’s educational curriculum, Fascial Counterstrain (FCS), to broaden my ability to optimize treatment through reducing systemic inflammation, and restore hope for those limited by troubling health challenges.

Dr. Isaiah Requintina, PT, DPT received his physical therapy training from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO. After his time there, he received rigorous training in traditional manual therapy techniques addressing mechanical and chronic pain issues. It was during this time that he encountered Fascial Counterstrain and was treated using it. He was impressed, not only with its ability to address pain of different sources and types, but more importantly, its ability to address dysfunction in structures both in and outside of the musculoskeletal world contributing to the pain as well as other symptoms such as stress and anxiety. Recognizing the power of Fascial Counterstrain in that first encounter, he has since dedicated his time to learning and using it to help his patients achieve optimum health and wellness. Isaiah works with Renew Concierge Physical Therapy providing mobile bodywork and manual physical therapy treatment in the Pensacola, FL.
Mary grew up in Colorado, went to the University of Colorado’s physical therapy program and now works in Longmont, Colorado. She has been practicing physical therapy for 35 years and still gets excited about learning new techniques and by continually improving her manual therapy skills. Mary feels that fascial counterstrain has provided a long missing piece of the puzzle toward complete body recovery that traditional physical therapy techniques could not provide. When she’s not in the clinic she enjoys camping with her dog and husband, traveling, scuba diving and reading.
